HOUSTON, TX - A hit-and-run in north Houston claimed the life of a United States Postal Service worker on Saturday afternoon.
According to a report by KTRK, the postal truck was making a left turn from Bauman Road onto Julia Street at about 4:15 p.m. when it was rear-ended by a 2011 white Ford Expedition.
The postal truck veered off the roadway and overturned in a ditch, landing on the worker. Despite witnesses rushing to his aid, the unidentified victim died at the scene.
The Ford fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers traced the vehicle to a local resident, who told them the vehicle was stolen.
It is unclear if any arrests have been made at the time of this writing.
