HOUSTON, TX - A cyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in the Katy area on Monday night.

According to KIAH, the man was riding in the far right-hand lane of South Mason Road near Cinco Ranch Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m. when he was hit by an unspecified vehicle.

The cyclist, whose identity is unclear at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver fled the scene before authorities arrived. No additional details on the vehicle involved are available at this time.
