HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- A DWI suspect has been charged following a pedestrian crash Tuesday afternoon in Deer Park that left a 17-year-old girl seriously injured, reports ABC13.
The Deer Park Police Department said the incident occurred at Georgia Avenue and Wildwood Drive, in the Erin Glen neighborhood south of The Battleground Golf Course. It was first reported at around 3:30 p.m.
Authorities have not released a sequence of events leading up to the crash, but preliminary details indicate the teen was struck by a pickup truck while she was walking home from the south campus of Deer Park High School.
First responders rushed the victim by Life Flight to an area hospital, where she was listed in very serious condition.
No information about the driver has been shared, but they were taken into custody and has since been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Additional charges may be pending.
