HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- A passenger car and an 18-wheeler were involved in a wreck Monday morning near north Highlands that fatally injured one person, reports ABC13.
According Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies were dispatched to the scene in the 11400 block of Crosby-Lynchburg Road, near Floyd, some time before 8:11 a.m.
Officials have not released a sequence of events leading up to the accident, but one person was confirmed to have succumbed to their injuries at the scene. It was not immediately clear whether the decedent was the driver of the sedan or the semi.
A span of Crosby-Lynchburg Road was blocked in both directions during the emergency response and initial investigation.
Commuters were asked to seek alternate routes around the area, as traffic was being re-routed back to Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 90.
No charges have been confirmed at this time.
