HOUSTON, TX -- A 35-year-old woman died early last Friday, December 22, following a suspected DWI rollover wreck on Interstate 45 in north Houston, reports the Houston Police Department.
The fatal crash happened at 4700 North Freeway (I-45), in the city's Northside/Northline area. It was first reported at around 2:25 a.m.
According to investigators, Edwardo Delgado, 36, was operating a silver Chevrolet Tahoe northbound when he failed to maintain his lane. Shortly after, the Chevrolet hit a concrete barrier, and then a concrete pillar before landing on its side.
First responders pronounced the victim, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet, deceased at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed as of this writing.
Delgado, who suffered minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital. He was taken into custody after being found to be intoxicated.
