HOUSTON, TX -- Two HPD officers were sent to a hospital Thursday night when two separate police pursuits coincided in a northeast Houston crash, reports ABC13.
The series of events unfolded in the 2300 block of Little York Road at Aldine Westfield Road, in the city's Eastex/Jensen Area.
Authorities say that at around 8:56 a.m., a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy tried to pull over a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado near Seven Mile Road, but the driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit.
Moments after evading the deputy, the Chevrolet fled westbound on Little York before making a turn onto Aldine Westfield Road. As the Chevrolet entered the intersection, it collided with a stolen silver Honda Civic, which had run a red light while fleeing Houston Police Department officers. The Honda struck one other vehicle before coming to a stop.
While the driver and passenger of the Honda sent officers on a brief foot chase, the two suspects were ultimately apprehended and arrested
The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were taken into custody without incident.
The HPD patrol car also collided with a truck that was traveling on a green light. Two HPD officers were transported to an area hospital as a result, but no major injuries were reported.
