HOUSTON, TX -- A two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler Tuesday morning in northeast Houston claimed the life of one person, according to ABC13.
Houston Police said the collision unfolded in the 200 block of McCarty Street, at the intersection with Portwall Street. It was first reported at around 6:40 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate that a pickup truck crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler cab, which did not have a trailer attached.
One person died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities. It was not immediately clear whether the victim was inside the pickup or the semi cab at the time.
A stretch of McCarty Street was shut down in both directions during the response and investigation. Motorists were asked to take Wallisville Road instead.
