HOUSTON, TX -- A 22-year-old man died following a two-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon on State Highway 288 in south Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident took place in the 6800 block of the highway (South Freeway) at around 1:15 p.m.
Investigators say the young man was operating a silver Honda Civic northbound when the vehicle hit a white Chevrolet Express that was disabled on the right shoulder. Two men who were standing outside of the Chevrolet at the time were also hit and injured during the crash.
The driver of the Honda was rushed by paramedics to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, confirmed officials. Both male pedestrians, ages 42 and 32, were taken to a local hospital for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The HPD's Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate.
