HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- A crash involving a ride-share vehicle Thursday morning near northwest Houston has claimed two lives and left two other people hurt, reports ABC13.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported about the fatal wreck at 11500 State Highway 249, near the Breen Drive intersection, just after 8:00 a.m.
Details regarding the sequence of events have not been released, but officials said the male driver and a woman in the front-seat passenger seat of one vehicle were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and a passenger from the second vehicle, a ride-share, were both transported to an area hospital. While the patients were listed in serious condition, both are expected to survive their injuries.
An investigation remains ongoing, but the sheriff's office said speed appears to be a contributing factor in the accident.
