HOUSTON, TX -- A 70-year-old man who was hit by a vehicle on Saturday, December 23, in northwest Houston has died from his injuries, confirmed the Houston Police Department.
The incident was reported at 2700 Gessner Road, in the Spring Branch area, at around 6:55 p.m.
Investigators say the victim was on foot and trying to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle, believed to be "a grey or silver sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima."
Following the crash, the driver failed to stop and render aid or alert authorities.
First responders rushed the male pedestrian to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. On Friday, January 5, nearly two weeks later, the HPD was notified that the victim had been pronounced deceased.
