HOUSTON, TX -- A heavy truck accident and a resulting hazmat spill Friday morning closed part of southbound Interstate 610 in northeast Houston, reports KHOU11.
The wreck occurred on the southbound lanes (East Loop) at Market Street, in the Pleasantville Area. It was first verified by Houston Transtar at 8:56 a.m.
Officials have not released a sequence of events, but Transtar traffic cameras captured footage of the truck on its side.
It was unclear how long crews would take to remove the spill, as a clearance time was not immediately announced.
No injuries have been reported following the event.
