HOUSTON, TX -- A 32-year-old woman has been charged for her alleged role in a head-on collision last Thursday, November 30, in northwest Houston that killed another person, reports the Houston Police Department.
The fatal wreck occurred in the 700 block of North Shepherd Drive at around 11:35 p.m.
According to the HPD's Vehicular Crimes Division, Sherry Ann Parsons was operating a white Mitsubishi Outlander northbound in the southbound lanes when the vehicle collided with an oncoming white Volkswagen Jetta.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 34-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding paramedics.
Parsons, who was transported to a local hospital for injuries considered non-life-threatening, was found to be intoxicated and has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 351st State District Court. Officials say she will be booked into Harris County Jail upon her release from the hospital.
