HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- A woman died last Thursday, October 19, in a single-vehicle accident off Alief Clodine Road near west Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the fatal accident on the 13900 block of the road, in the Howellville area. It was first reported at about 2:35 p.m.
An early investigation found that the woman was driving a Nissan Rogue west in lane 1 of the westbound road when the vehicle hit a raised concrete curb on the roadway's south edge. The Nissan traveled west past the center grass median before its front end collided with a tree.
The driver and sole occupant was rushed to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries, confirmed officials.
The HCSO's Vehicular Crimes Division was working to determine whether the driver had suffered a medical emergency just prior to the crash. A full investigation was in progress.
