FORT BEND COUNTY, TX -- A child died Sunday afternoon after a collision on the Grand Parkway in Sugar Land that left four people hospitalized, including another child, reports ABC13.
The fatal wreck took place at the intersection with East Riverpark Drive, just before the State Route 99 entrance ramp. Sugar Land Police responded to the area at around 4:16 p.m.
Although the circumstances of the event remain unclear, authorities said they are investigating the possibility that one vehicle ran a red light. As many as seven people were involved.
Responding paramedics said a child died from their injuries at the scene.
A second child, along with three other patients, were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for unspecified injuries. The other patients declined medical attention.
An investigation remains active and ongoing, and no pending charges have been reported at this time.
