HOUSTON, TX -- Six people, including a pedestrian, have died following a two-vehicle crash early Saturday in downtown Houston that left two others injured, reports Click2Houston.
The fatal accident happened in the 2000 block of Fannin Street, at Pierce Street, at around 2:00 a.m.
According to Houston Police, Lauren Robinson Holliday, 32, was driving a black Acura SUV eastbound on Pierce Street when she entered the intersection with Fannin Street on a green light. 25-year-old Christian Herrera was operating a black Chrysler 300 at a high rate of speed southbound on Fannin Street when he ran the red light, causing the Chrysler to collide with the Acura.
Investigators say three people in the Acura were ejected due to the impact of the crash. The Chrysler was thrown off the roadway and onto a sidewalk before striking a pedestrian, 31-year-old Frank Johnson.
First responders pronounced both drivers, Robinson Holliday and Herrera, along with Johnson and passenger 31-year-old Izuchu 'Ralph' Oragwu, deceased at the scene.
Passengers Zachary McMillian, 32, and Derek Hayden, 33, were rushed to an area hospital where they also later succumbed to their injuries.
A 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, two other passengers in the Acura. Both patients remain hospitalized and were listed in stable condition, though the woman's injuries are considered critical.
Authorities do not believe any passengers were in the Chrysler at the time of the wreck.
